Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is one of the premier Law Institutions in India. The University was established in the year 2014 under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014 and it started its first academic endeavor in the year 2015. The University disseminates advanced legal knowledge under the able guidance and mentorship of the University’s Chancellor, Hon. Mr. Justice D.Y Chandrachud, Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India, and under the able leadership of its Hon. Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Ukey.
The University offers a B.A. LL.B.(Hons.) five-year integrated program and one-year LL.M. program in Constitutional Law, Criminal laws, Corporate and Commercial Laws, and Maritime law. From the Academic Year 2020, the University has also introduced the LLM Professionals program and M.A. in Mediation to acquaint students with the modern processes of Law. Cognizant of this changing paradigm of learning MNLU Mumbai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with some leading Universities and premier Institutions in India and abroad. Recently, MNLU Mumbai introduced a novel LL.M program in Investment and Security Laws from the academic year 2020-21 in collaboration with the National Institute of Security Management, a unit of SEBI. MNLU Mumbai is also introducing various new degrees and P.G. Diploma Programmes to broaden the academic horizons for the students. Being of the youngest law universities, MNLU Mumbai lays its emphasis on research projects, clinical exercises, legal skills training, Legal research and mooting by encouraging its students to represent the University in the National and International Competitions. We have various centers established to conduct advanced research in filed of Arbitration, Criminal Justice etc.
